"An actor should look like they are LIVING the life of the character not ACTING the life." ~ Tina Gallo

"Acting Classes"

Learn "The Method" and take your acting to a deeper level.

NSMA helps you to discover and bring out the actor inside you, to fulfill the demands of the creation of the role. NSMA will be teaching from the Stanislavski System: techniques from masters Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, Jack Waltzer, HB Studios, Uta Hagen and Sanford Meisner.

The goal of great acting is to get actors “to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances”.

You will be learning technique, sense memory, repetition, cold reading, scene study, monologues and improvisation as the foundation from which you as an actor develop your craft.

Students work in every class every time you attend on exercises that are designed for relaxation, strengthening your imagination and concentration. NSMA trains the student to respond quickly and fully to all stimuli, in an effort to create reality and spontaneity in performance.

The actor also learns "on camera techniques" and "mastering the audition process".

Acting Classes are Ongoing

NSMA encourages their actors to train and practice these exercises, even after they are professionally successful. A 12 week minimum commitment to classes is required, so that these techniques are learned and can become second nature. The goal is for the actor to use these techniques in their own way. This includes thoughts, sensations, emotions and realities, that are possibly logical to the event or situation, that you have to create for a scene. NSMA starts with the uniqueness of the actors themselves, their senses, emotions, thoughts, beliefs and imagination that all have personal meaning to them.

"Acting is the most personal of our crafts. The make-up of a human being - his physical, mental and emotional habits - influence his acting to a much greater extent than commonly recognized.

Acting isn't something you do. Instead of doing it, it occurs. If you're going to start with logic, you might as well give up. You can have conscious preparation, but you have unconscious results." - Lee Strasberg

“Acting is in everything but the words.” - Stella Adler

The benefits to taking classes online instead of in person

There are, of course, pros and cons to both online acting classes

and in-person classes. Online acting programs do offer certain advantages. Online classes allow you to establish a consistent practice at home. With a unique ability to control the environment in which they take class, students also report that online learning can offer fewer distractions. Most importantly, online classes allow students the flexibility to study with us from anywhere in the world.
